Becca & Zach | an engagement shoot on the city streets of queen west to lush greens of high park

What do you get when you connect on a whole other level with the couples you work with?

This. This is what you get :)

A session full of love, adventure, play, and all the dreamy sun-soaked moments.

So- how does one get something like this?

Well, personally for me, it’s the candid approach, but as I mentioned on IG lately, candid doesn’t mean “run into that field while I hide behind this tree and peak out as you flounder about!”. It means getting my couples to a place where they are completely in their skin & bones and deeply connected so that all these organic candid moments unfold - over and over again.

To do that, first, I make sure we are on the same page and chat to see if we jive. Then once we hit it off and we make things official, I send my couples a questionnaire ( a lot of us photogs do this!) and I ask for either a little written response or video back, done in the most candid nature.

I want to get to know you. I want to learn about you. I want to know what you think about life, the places that matter, the places that have stories and meaning. I want to know what makes you tick. I want to know how you feel about each other and about love. I want to know your personality.

I want to know all of this because these photos are yours. They should be laced with every level of you. I’m just here to get you to be you, to move past the “I’m so awkward in front of the camera” and to just be….

…fully present.

… fully engaged.

….fully grounded.

…fully you.

And that’s where the magic lives. That’s the whole reason I love this work and creating images that will carry your story down to different generations far past your last breath. Then, your love story lives on forever. And, how freaking awesome is that?

Becca & Zach had me at hello. From the first moment, virtually on our screens, I knew they were my kind of people and the kind of people whose love would completely inspire me. Then the minute we met in person, everything was exactly how I pictured it. They are, if not, even cooler in person, and being able to tell their love story thru images was not just an honor but a complete blast. I cannot wait for their wedding, it’s going to be the most wonderful, I already know that!
