Stacey, Ruby & Mike | Summer Family Session in High Park

Give me ALL the sweet babe sessions in nature with all the grown-up babes, too. Love and sweetness all around.

But seriously, snuggly family shoots are my jam, regardless of location. They’re super fun to do no matter where we get to capture these moments; indoors or outdoors. I honestly can’t get enough of them.

One of my favourite things ever is seeing a couple show up exactly as they are and feeling their best. It’s not about showing up as someone else or this version of yourself that only comes out every once in a while, it's about being totally present in who you are at this time in your life. It’s being completely and totally you, in the most authentic way.

This is the perfect time to be raw in front of the camera so I can capture those candid moments that reflect the real you.

What to wear, you ask?!

I truly believe that photoshoots should be a stamp of who you are. When it comes to picking what to wear, I think it's so important to look like you. Of course you can go the extra mile and put in a little more effort than you normally would or even buy a new outfit, but ultimately you should dress in a way that feels comfortable.

Don’t dress fancy if you aren’t into it, and don’t dress down if that’s not you either.

Don’t wear something just because it looked good on social media or because Pinterest recommended it. Think about yourselves, your surroundings, and what makes you feel freaking awesome in your own skin.

You are perfect just as you are.

So wear the outfit that helps you embrace that.

Show off those tattoos.

Wear your favorite jeans.

Arrive for adventure in your Chucks or Blundstones.

Keep it relaxed.

OR wear the dress or suit you have been so excited to wear but never got the chance.

Get done up with hair and makeup, if that’s your thing.

Rock the heels or leather loafers.

This is your opportunity to put on whatever makes you feel good.

Showing up for a shoot exactly how you want is a nice reminder that your partner loves you for you. Not the you that feels like they have to be perfect. Your partner appreciates all that you are, so you don’t need to show up as something other than that.

An authentic shoot is important for you, your partnership, and it also makes for better photos. Truly, it does!

The camera picks up on when you feel comfortable, and you're bound to feel most comfortable when you can be your most genuine self.

Let’s play, have fun, and show off the amazing person you are. That’s the whole point of family sessions, engagement sessions, and any other kind of portrait sessions: to capture you, in this moment, perfectly as you are.

I know my enthusiasm sort of speaks to this enough, but I love capturing your love. If this post is making you feel all the feels, then it’s time to book your family photoshoot or love session! Reach out to me and let’s discuss the experience you want to have. I can’t wait to capture you in your real, authentic, beautiful glory.
