Friday Favourites. Once or twice a month I am going to share some of my favourites with you. Favourites like my favourite place to grab a coffee, my favourite spot to escape to in Toronto, a favourite florals arrangement or local florist, my favourite band or current song on repeat, the best piece of wedding advice I can offer, my favourite boutique/shop, even a favourite beauty product that really has become a beloved part of my daily ritual. And also of course someone I find inspiring. I hope you'll enjoy!
It's been over a year since they said 'I do' and their love just seems to get stronger, and steamier. Over coffee & chocolate covered almonds, on a chilly spring morning, I visit with these two souls in their cozy aparment. They reminisced about their relationship, talked about the future adventures and spent most of the morning entangled with one another. At home sessions make my heart warm and happy.
This past fall on a chilly, but sunny weekend, in Prince Edward County, the wedding of Kelly & James warmed everyone's heart. These two threw quite a shindig, complete with endless charcuterie, magnums of Norman Hardie wine, sushi, a band that brought down the house and some of the best dancing I ever did see, especially from the groom. There was laughter and there were tears (only happy, feel it in your heart tears) and it was one of those weddings you'll just never forget.
Sarah & Jeff's city wedding had all the fixings for a sought after day. From the 'to die for' blush dress and stunning florals, to the old Rolls Royce for cruising around as newly weds, to the nicest people that filled up the room with laughter, these two had it all and I couldn't be happier for them!
The Love (Actually) Exhibition is a show I'm curating at the Gladstone hotel for the month of February aka Love Month. The show features the work of 30 photographers in the Toronto wedding community as well as a list of the other magical wedding gurus that were a part of each wedding that the photo comes from. The show focuses on the love and happiness during weddings as seen through real moments.
Love. Feel it in your bones kind of love. Make you want to get home just a little quicker to see them kind of love. Can't help but smile your silly face off at dinner across the table at them love. Hold on just a little longer or have one extra goodbye smooch in the morning kind of love. This love, this is what it's all about.
Although most people know me as a wedding photographer, I also spend so much of my time photographing other chapters in people's lives. From maternity sessions, newborn shoots and even birth photography. From first smiles to crawling, then walking and then of course having their parents chase them around the house with absolute delight; covering these moments in all their beauty is some of the most rewarding work I do.
